What to bring
The temperature in the summer months (December to early April) is usually 30-35C during the day and only 3 degrees cooler at night. What are jokingly called our winter months (May till the end of July) bring a few showers and some welcome rains however temperatures are usually just 5 -8 degrees cooler and rarely drop below 20C. From August until the end of November temperatures are typically in between the summer & winter temperatures. So, bring light-weight, easy fitting clothes. In the evenings, it is useful to have light long trousers, while shorts, T-shirts and swimwear are a must for day time. We provide beach towels.
Because it's hot, guests are advised to use sun block during the day and mosquito repellent in the evenings.
A single-entry Kenya tourist Visa (valid for entry within ninety (90 days) from the date of issue) is available on arrival at the immigration desk at the airport. Please note that duration of stay in the country will be specified on the visitor’s pass granted at the port of entry. The maximum length is usually three months (90 days) from the date of entry.
Currently the cost is US $50 per person. Children under 16 years of age who are accompanying their parents do not require a visa.
Applicants wishing to stay in Kenya longer than three months (90 days) should contact the Department of Immigration, for the relevant long-term permits or extension of their visitors’ passes. Visit the Immigration website for more information.
